MentionBeat measures how answer engines describe your brand — and unlike most of this category, we tell you exactly how each figure was produced, including when it is too thin to trust.
MentionBeat is a product of Brevence Oy, a limited company registered in Finland (Business ID 3454899-8) at Kivenhakkaajankuja 3 B, 02650 Espoo. Brevence Oy is the contracting party on our terms of service and the data controller named in our privacy policy. There is no holding structure behind that, and no other trading name — the company you contract with is the company that runs the servers.
When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity for a recommendation in your category, an answer comes back naming some companies and not others. MentionBeat runs that question on a schedule, records what each engine said, and tracks whether your brand appears, how it is characterised, and which sources the engine leaned on to get there.
That is a measurement job before it is a marketing job. Answer engines are non-deterministic: ask the same question twice and the wording moves. Most of the engineering here goes into telling a real change apart from that noise — repeated sampling, explicit confidence, and a refusal to print a number we cannot stand behind.
Every vendor in this category reports a visibility score, and almost none of them will tell you how it is computed. That makes the scores unfalsifiable, which makes them worthless for a decision. So we published ours: the prompt set, the sampling, the scoring, and the thresholds below which we suppress a number instead of showing you a confident-looking figure built on four data points.
You can read it in full and argue with it — that is the point. See the measurement methodology.
