The GEO scoping builder

The GEO scoping builder is a free tool that turns eight answers about your site, your stack and your publishing capacity into a prioritised plan — in dependency order, sized to what your team can actually ship, and explicit about the work your situation lets you skip.

Computed in your browser from fixed rules, not generated by a model. Nothing is invented, and the plan appears without an address.

How the plan is ordered

Bottom-up through the visibility layers, because effort spent on a higher layer is wasted while a lower one is broken. Whatever you answer below, the plan comes back in this order:

The full reasoning behind this order is in the field guide; the page-level detail is in the checklist.

Eight questions

Answer honestly rather than aspirationally — a plan built on the capacity you wish you had is a plan nobody follows. The output updates as you go.

How big is the site?

Pages that a visitor could land on — not blog archives or paginated lists.

What is it built on?

This decides how much of the work is a content job and how much is an engineering one.

What do you sell, and how is it bought?

Considered purchases behave differently from impulse ones: buyers verify rather than get sold.

How much can you publish, realistically?

Not the ambition — what actually shipped in the last three months, divided by three.

How many markets or languages?

A number that differs between two language versions causes the same hedging as a competitor contradicting you.

Is the brand in the open knowledge graph?

A Wikidata item, a Wikipedia article, or an entry in a standards or industry register.

Do you have a visibility baseline?

A recorded measurement of what assistants say about you today, not an impression from asking once.

Who is doing the work?

Sets how much of the plan can run in parallel, and where it will bottleneck.

Want us to look at it with you?

The plan above is yours either way — it downloads without an address. If you would like it emailed, along with a reply from someone who has read your answers rather than a template, tell us who you are.

Your answers travel with the request so the reply is about your situation. We never sell or share addresses, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe.

Frequently asked questions

Is anything sent to an AI model?
No. The plan is computed in your browser from a fixed rule table — the same dependency order published in the field guide, applied to your eight answers. Nothing is generated, so nothing in it can be invented.
What happens to my answers?
Nothing, unless you ask for the plan by email. The plan appears on screen and downloads without an address. If you do fill in the form, your answers travel with the request so that a reply from us is about your actual stack and capacity rather than a template.
How accurate can a plan from eight questions be?
It is a prioritisation, not an audit. The order is reliable because the dependencies are real — crawlability genuinely does gate everything above it. The effort estimates are typical ranges, and anything specific to your site needs someone to look at your site. Run a page check for that half.
Why does the plan tell me what to skip?
Because that is usually the more valuable half, and it is the half a lead-generation tool is normally too greedy to include. If your platform already serves HTML, you do not need a rendering project, and saying so costs us nothing worth having.
